The Organic Farmer with David Steele

As a storyteller, David explores his 66 years of connection to the land and the role of the farmer in a sense of self and community. This journey is an exploration through photographs and stories from his experience as an organic farmer in Manitoba. He hopes you will gain a better understanding of the role of the farmer at heart of all communities. Lets plant a few seeds of thanks for farmers and the fruits of their labors. Door fee is by donation

Grafting Fruit Trees
Sunday, March 30th Rockwood Centre 5511 Shorncliffe Sechelt 1pm to 3pm:
Heinz Engelmann In this workshop, Heinz will teach us about different kinds of grafting and what situations to use them in. He will also discuss the varieties of rootstock, how to make the perfect cut, how to seal the wound and what to look for in the months after the graft. We will then all get a chance to do some hands on grafting with samples Heinz will provide. By the end of the workshop you will be able to graft onto your own trees. Class fee is $15 - Please pre-register for this event!

Free Ground Level Introduction to Permacutlure

Join Delvin Solkinson and Kym Chi with a group of conscious learners in a free introduction to permaculture day in the Heart Gardens, Gumboot Gardens, Elphinstone Rainforest and Mandala Beach of Roberts Creek. Pilgrimage in carpools to the Sunshine Coast, a short ferry ride from Vancouver, to experience a unique and creative introduction to the permaculture paradigm.
After thirteen successful runs of this free intro day, its been a great experience for people who are new to permaculture as well as those who are deeply experienced.
