Hi lovely folks,

Well, another great day of summery weather for the Farm Gate ... hope this keeps up so we can all enjoy berry season & fall harvests before the cold and wet sets in!

In case there's any confusion, I just want to let you all know that our Wednesday Farm Gate Market keeps on going all the way until the end of November, and then will switch to our winter market schedule on Thursdays (more info to come soon).  We still have 15+ vendors offering up farm fresh eggs, lots of greens, tomatoes, squash, cucs, fresh bread, pitas, crackers, fruit leathers, potatoes, jams, pickles & krauts, fruit, and lots of other tasty treats.

A couple of things coming up this weekend to mention:

***
The SALISH DEMO GARDEN is hosting an OPEN HOUSE at the Lehigh Mine site this Saturday, September 10th from 11 am to 4 pm.  Join Farmer Dave Ryan and his 6 Salish Demonstration Garden apprentices to tour the mine reclamation site where they've been learning & practicing growing food & much more.  See attached invite for more info.
5800 Black Bear Road, Sechelt.

Also, just a reminder that our Wetland Restoration / Natural Pond Building class is coming up this Sunday from 3 - 6 pm at Shirley Macey Park in Gibsons.  We have a couple of spaces left, and will be able to accommodate drop ins.
See below for more info.

If anyone has an old water bed liner, or a 10 x 10 piece of pond-liner they'd care to donate to the cause, let me know:  604.741.9859 orThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

And a little advance notice for our next big One Straw / Food Action Network hoorah:
Our 4th Annual Fall Faire!
Sunday, October 2nd from 12 noon to 4 pm.  (Always the first Sunday in October)
Roberts Creek Hall

Featuring food and craft vendors, info booths for local organizations, lots of contests, an activity packed kid zone (also for the young at heart), music, great food, and all kinds of other fun.

If you'd like to vend, volunteer, donate a prize for the contests, or find out more, let me know :)  I'm looking for a couple of people who can help out on the organizing committee, and for a bunch of people who can volunteer for a 3 hour shift.  Also would like to find a few people who can work together to bake & cook items for our concession to help us fundraise.

Thanks.  Hope you all have a great week!
