News
Hiya friends,
A couple of exciting things to relay today. I would like to invite you to a very special One Straw Society / Food Action Network potluck we're having this Tuesday, September 20th from 6 - 8 pm in Sechelt at the Rockwood Centre (5511 Shorncliffe Avenue, Sechelt). A spectacular group of travelling (bicycling!) artists, performers and activists from the Otesha Project are coming to town, and will be offering a theatre performance for us to enjoy after our meal, followed by some time for group discussion and mingling.
The Otesha Project is "a youth-led environmental organization that aims to mobilize and equip Canadians to create local and global change through their individual and collective choices." The group that's visiting us are are cycling for sustainability throughout BC, performing plays & offering workshops. See attached for more info.
I hope lots of you come out to share food & enjoy the performance! Bring a friend :)
Feel free to bring a donation to support these travelling bards.
RSVP if you can, so I get an idea on our numbers.

Before I introduce the next bit of news, I'll just remind everyone that our 4th annual Fall Faire is coming up Sunday, October 2nd from 12 - 4 at the Roberts Creek Hall.
* If you're a food producer or farmer that focuses on organic / sustainable food, how about vending?
* I'm looking for a couple more volunteers who love to cook or bake, to help us make the food for the concession. Cookies, brownies, pumpkin tarts or muffins, some bread to go with the harvest soup, savoury tarts / pie etc. Any takers?
* Still have lots more capacity for volunteers :) Consider taking a 2 hour shift, and ya get some free stuff, not to mention having fun with good folks.
