Elphinstone Logging Focus (ELF) conducted a 1 hour Info-Blockade on Sunday, April 3rd on the East Wilson Creek Forest Service Road.

The objective of the blockade was to stop a Sunshine Coast Community Forest (SCCF) sponsored walk-through of their proposed Cutblock EW002 in a Wilson Creek forest and to engage in meaningful debate. ELF pointed out to SCCF Board members and public attending that over 40% of the Wilson Creek Watershed has already been logged. The Ministry of Forests (MOF) states that logging should not proceed in watersheds which have more than 20% forest cover removed until a MOF hydrological report has been completed.

SCCF hired their own hydrologist (Dobson Engineering) to tell them that logging in the Wilson Creek Watershed would have no negative impact on fisheries, water flow regimes, increased sedimentation, etc. - Elphinstone Logging Focus calls this "a green-washing exercise".
