The Green Film Series has announced a second showing of the popular documentary movie, "Queen of the Sun, What are the Bees Telling Us?". The film will be shown on Monday, April 9 at the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse at 7:30 pm, followed by discussion and networking with beekeeper guests.
Taking us on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive, this engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world who reveal both the problems and the solutions in renewing a culture in balance with nature.

Series sponsors, The Gibsons Green Team and Sustainable Coast magazine, have scheduled this additonal showing which will include a display by the Sunshine Coast Beekeepers Association and a discussion after the film. The beekeepers reported that they have added four more beekeepers to the coast after they attended the first film and learned more about raising honey bees.

A reservations form has been set up online at greenfilms.ca. Reservations can be made for the "Queen of the Sun" film and also for the upcoming "Revenge of the Electric Car" to be shown on April 23 and 24.

Cost of the film showing is $5 plus and additional $3 if you are not a member of the SC Film Society. Doors open at 7 pm and the film begins at 7:30 pm.  Reservations or early arrivals are encouraged. The Green Film Series is a special project of the Sunshine Coast Film Society produced by The Gibsons Green Team and Sustainable Coast magazine.
