An AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH FORUM will be presented by the One Straw Society on January 19, 2014 from 3- 6 PM at the Roberts Creek Hall. Come on out and learn about a host of new agricultural related projects! Project leaders and affiliates will deliver the results of recent research regarding six topical projects.
Projects/topics for the day include:
- Key Note Address: Food Sovereignty in Practice on the Sunshine Coast
- The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Area Plan
- The SmartFarm Project
- The Sunshine Coast Food Policy Council: roles and responsibilities
- Persephone Brewing Company: An Integrated Farm Plan
- 20 years and counting: Strategic directions for the One Straw Society
The One Straw Society is excited and honoured to help gather public support for these projects and programs.
This forum will inspire directions for future research and offer recommendations and/or ways to get involved to help create a stronger local food economy on the Sunshine Coast. Come out and engage with community agricultural initiatives and network! Refreshments and good company provided.
