Thank you to all of the amazing people that came out last weekend to help create a new community bench at the community gardens in Sechelt! We are excited for this new addition that will allow for more people to sit and enjoy the gardens or have a place to rest while waiting for the bus!
It's not quite ready, so over the next two weeks, we will add a plaster coat that will add and smooth finish and add some artistic features as well as help protect the bench. In the next month, we will also add a roof that will bring shade in the summer heat and host a community bulletin board to share whats happening in the area!We would like to send an extra thank you to our sponsors and partners; Sunshine Coast Community Foundation, Sunshine Coast Association for community living, The District of Sechelt, Arrowhead, St. Hildas Church, Salish Soils, Don Robb, Sechelt Youth Centre and of course One Straw Society!
Deep gratitude goes out to local Cob experts who helped facilitate the buidling; Amanda Rae Hergesheimer, Michelle Wesanko, Nina Bell and Naomi Fleschut. Stay tuned for more updates as the bench progresses!
