I know you all love to shop as local as possible ... and here's another opportunity to do so throughout the winter!
Our Farm Gate winter market is back again this year from December to March - every Thursday from 3 - 6 pm at the Roberts Creek Hall Kitchen in collaboration with Curry in the Creek (www.curryinthecreek.com).

This week we feature Promised Land Farm (Alain), Country Haven Farm (Billy & Clarissa) and The Flour Peddler (Chris & Amanda-Rae).

Last year we tried every second week, and this year we're stepping it up to each week, so please do come out to support your local producer year round :)

If you're a vendor and are interested in participating, we still have some spaces available to book.  Give me a shout.

Happy December :)

The Cohen Commission is re-opening for three days on December 15, 16 and 19 to hear evidentiary testimony on the ISA virus. They will no doubt be looking into whether the DFO withheld a vital report on the virus from an earlier study taken in 2002 of wild salmon. The recently revealed report is being called "Fishyleaks" on the Superheroes4salmon blog.
It states that: “These results lead us to conclude that an asymptomatic form of ISA occurs among some species of wild Pacific salmon in the north Pacific.” The report is co-authored by staff at the DFO Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo and the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island.
